I use to use notepad until about 3 days ago, then I switched to Context, a program we've been using at school. It's ok, but the side bar bugs me. Heh, I just noticed my web browser is spell checking this comment, neat!

If you're using Firefox and have added a dictionary to it, it'll check for spelling errors. I picked up on this a while ago, and thought it was fancy.
Deathstar: Do you mean NVU?
I use Ultra Edit at work a lot and at home I use Visual Studio. Both are very good programs, although I'd say Visual Studio has a much better html/css editor. Hmm, for php I think DevPHP (free) is the best.
On Windows, I use Crimson Editor. It has syntax highlighting, and an internal frames feature. <3

On Unix, i use nano. It's not even made for web development specifically. >_>
I use pico!
Notepad.
Other: Textpad, I love the syntax highlighting and the clean interface, it also makes it a lot easier to keep track of your files. Suprised no one mentioned this yet.
Oh and for you lazy people.
