Im sure there is a way to configure a webpage to allow you to record a sound, then transmit it to dream seeker. I just dont know how to do it, I'm going to turn this into a libary, so anyone that helps me gets credit ^^;

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Eh... well, maybe. I can see something like Java sort-of-working to record the sound, and then you could probably work out a way of putting the sound file on a server somewhere and notifying the game that there's a new sound file, so it goes off and downloads the file and sends it to everyone's cache and makes everyone play it... but it would be clunky, and slow, and largely pointless, and slow, and bandwidth-chomping, and slow. Did I mention slow? =P |

The JRE that comes with most browsers doesn't have any recording ability (as far as I can remember, anyway). To record stuff you'd need the new sound API which I don't think has been incorporated into the regular Java install yet.
There might be a possibility of doing it with ActiveX controls, but it would involve the user having to tinker with their IE security settings etc. There's no way, that I can think of, that you could do it without the user having to install something extra. Interesting idea though. |
