A very annoying Question

I am making a Zelda Game. I found a picture :



And what I want to do, is display it on the map as a title screen. It seems to big for an icon, what should I do?

make a normal turf but at the icon part (icon='whatever.dmi') put in the
filename (ex: icon='link.bmp')

A bmp would be very large for this picture, I would say it would end up being about two or three megabytes or so.
