I've been coding a game recently and when playing others, I've seen almost all of them have title screens, I was wondering, how do you make one? I'd really like to add one to my game.

Well first off you need some graphic designing skills. To make the actual title image. Then putting the image into the map isnt that hard. The main way is to have a obj/titlescreen and have the icon='title.bmp' or .png. then just place it on the map. The most important thing about this process is figuring out how big the view of the world is to make how big the title screen so it covers the whole map. Then just teleport to a diffrent map. Or you can get into hud objects and stuff. But I stopped dealing with huds long before they actually plugged them into byond. Now I dont know any thing about huds. Try getting some one too make a demo of this it might be a good idea. | |
I find that 410 pixels X 410 pixels is good, although for a perfect fit I think one of then has to be 420, I THINK. If I find somewhere to host my images, I will host some of my hundreds so that people can use them for inspiration or ideas, or with my permission just use them!

View sizes of a world can change simply by defining the view of the world to be diffrent than the default. Making a title screen image bigger than it needs to be might add more download time that was not origannly needed. | |
