In my game i have some woods, there is an archer that lives in a small hut in these woods, the archer is a mob that protects the woods. When you find this archer he yells at you and asks you what your doing in the woods. You answere by saying your the kings protector. Then the archer says to you ok, any friend of the kings is a friend of mine. From there on in the archer follows you around the entire world. When you go in combat he uses his bow and attacks while you attack also, if he dies he turns into or morphes into an orb pic. You can pick this orb up, and bring it to some fairys that live underground. They will heal him back to life. Ok so far? If this isnt descriptive enough please dont write in something mean, i was very insulted by that last one, i still want your answere, but just not so mean. THANK YOU.

I'm okay so far. You've just told us about a feature in your game. Sounds great.

Answer? I failed to see a question in any of this. Prehaps this post was meant for creations or whatever it's called now?

You didn't ask a question, except to ask if you'd asked another question (which wasn't there) well enough.

You're still doing the exact same thing... not providing enough information.
Before you submit your posts, read through them, and imagine that you're someone else, reading this message, someone who doesn't have access to all the same information that you do. Imagine, in short, that all you know about the question/problem at hand is the information contained inside the one post. Does the message make sense in that context? In this post, your subject heading references a question, but the post describes a situation in your game... with no question ever being asked! The post will not make sense to anyone who reads it who is not already familiar with the situation. I myself happen to be familiar with the question, because I happen to have read the other post that started this "conversation". This is kind of what I meant when I said it's not a chatroom... you had (before I deleted the totally irrelevant ones) all kinds of posts all over the place that are references to each other, but there's nothing to tie them together. People looking at the messages individually will not know how to make sense of them. They make sense to you, but only because you already know what you mean. I'm not saying any of this (nor did I say the previous things) to be mean, and there are no insults aimed at you. I am HELPING you. You have lousy communication skills... and coding is nothing but communication. English (I imagine) is your main language. If you can not adequately describe exactly what you need done in your main language, how will you ever hope to describe it in DM, which is not your main language? What you're looking for, with the archer and the following and fighting for you and the fairy-based resurrection and so forth is indeed very specific... so specific that there is no simple answer to your question. There's simple answers for all the individual problems that make up the big one, but trying to put them together into one workable whole is impossible without pretty much writing all the code for your game, and no one's going to write your whole game for you. I think you are making the mistake that most new coders make... starting too big, trying to run before you can walk. My advice would be to put your highly detailed and complex idea for what sounds like it would be amazing game on hold... and spend some time learning how to code on minor projects. That's really the only way you'll ever come close to making your "dream game." That's the only way anyone ever does. |
