Is this okay? I'm not lazy to program but I mean ... I'm too lazy to go work on my own icons for an alpha version of a game I'm working on (I won't say what game it is). I'm too lazy to do that. I'm also too lazy to ask the owner for permission. I'm also too lazy to get even more research on the game I'm about to steal icons from.

I'm pretty sure Dragonball Finale's icons were ripped from another game/heavily updated. Dragonball Phoenix's icons were freely taken from Finale, which was originally an icon rip (not sure about coding).

Is it morally correct for me to steal what has already been stolen? Because I thought I saw Phoenix on the anime guild before it was removed recently or whatever and remembered the rules on it ... so I just want a heads up.

I know copy and pasting code/ripping from other sources it a no no (which I don't do) but I honestly HATE looking for a pixel artist for ten years just to get a player icon finished. Same goes for turfs.

I HATE IT...
It's morally wrong to steal period. Even if it is already stolen... It's not like you are stealing the icons to give them back to the original owner... You are just stealing them to do the same thing the original person who stole them did (use them without the permission of the original owner)
So you want to make a game that's aesthetically identical to countless others? You have no desire to make something that stands out and is respectable in its own right?

They're replacement icons so that I can just keep programming until a real pixel artist comes along.

You could easily use stick figures or crappy made icons or icons from free resources as placement icons until you find a pixel artist.

Placeholders are perfectly acceptable in the game development world, as long as they are placeholders. They should be changed before the game is probably even shown to the public.

As everyone else has said.

Just use a stick figure its easy to draw and can be used to showcase code mechanics.

Once you have mechanics down you can go to ads and post a playable demo (not the source) and allow iconners to view it and then most will go.. Yay or Nay to your game and voolah you got an iconner.

And btw where does the logic copy and pasting from sources is bad come from.. its totally fine its only your game that fails.
I would agree with what other people have said and add this. Some people might not mind, but others might. I would probably be happy to let someone else use artwork that I made, but would be miffed if it was taken without permission. So just ask. It will take as much time for you to send a note asking someone as it did to make this topic.
Simply answer : NO

This would be like saying I could kidnap a person who has already been kidnaps cauze dat's right eh?

Seriously though.. If you're lazy then that's you're own problem. Byond is over rips. Just get out.
