Heh, as a project's time goes on, as you work on them, they change. At least for me, from what has started off as ORPG, to like a lite RPG with simulation elements has now started to become a sandbox game.

The concept is really simple. in The World, you play as a god, given the task of creating a world. When you first enter the world, it is black and lifeless. It is nothing more then a void.

With your divine powers, you have the ability to conjure up things and place them in the world. At the very beginning you won't be strong enough to conjure up much, maybe just some grass, dirt and water. But as you become stronger, you will learn how to conjure up more and more complex things.

A example is how, early on, you will learn how to conjure trees. The most basic tree is nothing more then a nicety. But as you become better at what you do, you will learn how to conjure trees that bear fruit, which you can eat to restore your energy.

Players will learn how to conjure up creatures. Depending on the breed of the creature, it may or may not be aggressive. Aggressive creatures will never turn on it's creator though.

Unfortunately, thats about all I have right now. I am trying to think of ways to add more game play to the world, instead of just running around and building stuff. I want there to be some sort of substance. I am just not sure what it will be yet.

Here a player has built a home. He has a nice patch of grass, with some green trees and a house. Here, it looks like he decided to have blue floors installed. There is a set of chairs with a table and some barrels in the back. I honestly like how it looks and I hope the graphics don't set it back too much.
Perhaps it's not very original, but gameplay could involve balancing the ecosystem and meeting creation goals. It could be similar to Sim City. =)

Reminds me of omnipotence for whatever reason, I personally think that'd be fun, though.
Yeah as ACWraith suggested, maybe having the power to control the world that can be taken turns for the worse and soon will be destroyed. There could be events that need fixing, like for example:

Loss of oxygen in regions of the world - build more trees
Fires spreading throughout the new trees - make rain
Floods killing people - block off the water with mountains
etc..

That could be a potential for a great game
One thing that could be cool is that since your god have the creatures that you create evolve over time and change. This could lead to some different things happening based on your environment that you build or situations you make. Would give kinda a goal in the game besides just building and try to make a utopia or something.

This could turn into a difficult programming tasks with lots of different effects but could leave to nice gameplay

This seems like the love child of The Sims and Black and White. Interesting, but most of what you can do will probably have been done by those two games. Gotta add some unique multiplayer aspect to it IMO.
