Search BYOND. Search the internet (it's alpha, BTW).
Alpha and beta are one of several states of software.
  • Pre-alpha: Very early step. Only the basics down.
  • Alpha: Slightly more polished, but not ready for release or testing.
  • Beta: Often the testing phase.
  • Release candidate, Delta, Gamma (all valid terms): The final release, unless a fatal bug is found.
  • Gold: The release with all known bugs fixed or limited, and no known fatal bugs.

    Skins are generally just a term for a different interface.
