If I was to ever make a 2nd Eternal Adventure, as a part 2 or whatever, would you see this as something to 'motivate' you to play?

Always wondered.

uhhhh because if youre always gona look lame whats the point of buyin new equipment! the fun of it is so you can get that top level equipment that looks 1000x cooler then everything else

AND its also nice because you can get a general guage of a players level just by looking at them

If it was just for looks, I'd do what King of Slimes was going to do for his game, Rune and just put a "set icon" verb, that allows you to set your icon to a custom one.

Saves me work.

and custom icons for free would ruin the whole point of getting new armor <.< and sure sure, theres better stat boosts, but honestly when i play a game like WoW or FFXI id rather look cool and have crappy armor then look like a retard just to have mismatched powerfull stuff

There was ten minutes' difference. How many people do you think even had time to read the first post before you made the second one?

Use the edit button, seriously. Don't make me put on the red tag. =P

Naturally not. Think about it.

Anyway, another plus of visible equipment/clothes is that it gives each player a more unique, special look, especially if you can customize the, their color, etc. It is then easy to remember players by their icon and differentiate between them as well, not to mention of course it is nicer when they don't all look the same.
Bells and whistles. In that, if you're willing to put forth the effort, it's a nice touch. But for me, it's not something that will make or break a game.
