Do you think this would lower the quality of a game, that it uses grahpics from RPG Maker -or- another game maker software?

I believe no, most of the GOOD grahpics out there are made by RPG Maker, look at Mystic Journy, its a pretty good game, and it looks great because of RPG maker grahpics.

Yes, because it's illegal (I think) and STUPID! AND LAZY!

Flame Sage, you're completely wrong. Mystic Journey looks like an eyesore of rubbishy graphics, terrible gameplay, and rubbishy graphics.

Oh yeah, and it has rubbishy graphics.

No.
Using ripped graphics invites a host of problems, including legal issues if you ever want to make money. Instead either use graphics that are properly liscenced (some are free!) or get your own. The second option if preferable, as they are your property and add an original element to the game. But using free graphics as temporary placeholders is not a bad idea.

Castle has not so good graphics because if it did it would lag 5x as much.

Mystic Journey is a good game?
Personally I think the way the graphics are used is more important than which graphics are used. A game that's beautifully layed out with poor graphics can be, in my opinion, better than a game with awesome graphics that are poorly layed out.

You can just imagine a game with graphics that look like something from StarCraft or similar game, but they're only used to make long, boring, squarish rows of trees and lakes... Or you can take some of Theodis' graphics and build a beautiful not-so-well-drawn world with them. Which is better?

I think there's also the fact that you only really notice the graphics of a game when yor're first playing it if you like the game and start getting in to it the graphics mean less and less the more your get into it. If your game is fun little else matters. Though other things can directly affect the fun of the game like an awkward or goofy interface.

For people who want great looking games they aren't playing 2D BYOND games, they're off playing 3D commercial ones. Unique and interesting gameplay is far more important on BYOND (and any platform/development kit in my opinion) no matter what the logged in player count says.
MJ is one of the most poked-fun-at games in this section of BYOND (aside from Zeta). And why? Well, for one thing, Gunbuddy13 brags about being the "best coder on BYOND", and for another, he stole a fair amount of graphics from not only RPGMaker, but other games, and even some people on BYOND. Every time someone asks him to remove them, he bans the person from the game, or for that matter, just plain claims HE made them.

Among that, MJ is one of the worst excuses for a game I've ever seen. Most Zeta rips have better gameplay than it.
