Unsure if this is the right place to post this; oh well.

I made a Digimon game, which will be 2 player, and will have multiple versions, each with a different digimon. Each version will be compatible with the others when finished.
It's somewhat a virtual pet :)

Is this a good idea to continue with?

Post thoughts please

I think this should actually be on Design Philosophy or Creations, but that's not why I posted :P I think it would be quite cool, I haven't seen MANY virtual pets on here, and a really good one could be very cool.

I say keep it going!

Sounds good even though I don't know too much about digimon. I would be cool if you could some how fight other peoples monsters from a different version with yours. I don't know if you could do that, mabey you could somehow make the savefile transfer to a different game or make it just one huge game and you can select your version at the beginning and join a game.

Bad idea, this stuff is out-dated, well, to me it is. It doesn't matter anyways, I don't think most like virual pets.

I like the idea of virtual pets, but I don't know if I'd play a game solely based around them. It's kinda sweet, in first-person games, to turn around and see this little dragon/dog/cat/lizard/whatever sitting behind you, staring up at you and following you everywhere. =)

Anyway, what was my point?... oh, yeah, I remember. I like it when games are based around and focus on other things, but have pets in them as a minor feature. I once restarted Baldur's Gate 2 just because I wanted my main character to have a familiar. Not because it was particularly useful or anything, just because I wanted one. =)
