Well, I'm just brainstorming some subscriber commands for my game BYONDradio, it's somewhat of a cross between chat and music. Basically, people play music, and everyone hears it.
My sub. commands are headphones(you play music to yourself, and stop hearing the world music), and you get a copy of the game..

first off(sorry about this) how do you make commands that only subscribers can access?? I've been wondering about that 4 a while.
|
If there aren't already options to ignore the music of certain people (permanently, meaning that the ignore sticks even after you or the ignored person log out and in again) and to ignore the music of everyone, then they should be in. You should also be able to ignore specific people's chat (again, permanently unless you specifically unignore them).
|
Why should you need to subscribe to be able to listen to music or ignore other people?
|
There's got to be SOME point in subscribing, otherwise nobody will and no money will be made off it. =)
|
And there are always some people who you would like to ignore.... people you can't get along with, or people with a very very bad taste in music :-p

Ah, of course, how could I have missed that. Hmm, perhaps I should make my attack verbs subscriber-only in Maeva...

Sir, I would just like to say one thing:
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. |
It's his choice if he wants to make some features pay-only. It's not like they're core functionality, unlike attack commands in RPGs.
|
Make it free! Free is nice.
Leave the subscriptions for the uber-feature-heavy programs that people spent many months on. And just because you can charge for something doesn't mean that you should. |
Yes, I agree that free is nice. You can give out your games free, but I want to give those who are willing to give me a little boost something in return!
