Also BYOND makes your game multiplayer in a snap. If you find a 3d game designer out there, its most likely gonna be just 1 player, which forces you closer to things such as C++ (Which can be very difficult, i only know some of the basics of it) and such.

ya but I could care less the quality of people I get for this game, since like I said I just want to raise the bar for byond in terms of quality so people will be willing to pay more, so basically I need the non-imaginative people to come to my game, like it and hopefully I'll get money in return hehe.

Surely a 'great' game with spamming, idiotic players will get lower marks than a 'great' game with intelligent, RP'ing players. - Malver |

A quality game is safe from being ruined by bad players, because it would have built in protection against spamming and whatever else is needed. However, there is nothing to prevent players from being jerks. In fact, a quality game shouldn't depend on the players at all. Look at board games for example - you play with the people you want, but it doesn't effect the quailty of the game.

I can use 3d modellers. Hell I use them often, but thats not what Byond is about at all!
The graphics are not what Byond is about. If you want Quake III style games then contact ID Software with a big sack of $ and ask for the Quake 3 Engine! Better yet, mod games for free! Check out my (old) home page: www.modsgalore.cjb.net PS. Note to all spammers that read this: Anyone who sends a advert/pointless page to me will get added to my ban list. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! (40 times in a week is a just a bit much don't you think?) |

If your players stink at RP'ing, and be ***holes, then it will drag the quality of the game down, because (most) people probably would not like to RP with your average GokuSuperSaiyan32194283534. :P I took this post in the sense of RP-based games, so everything I said pretty much relates to that, not board games. - Malver |

Who's talking about making roleplaying games? If you want a roleplaying game, go built a MUD somewhere and play it with your friends and kick all the people you don't want out. A "quality" game is something else.

A well made game.

I really wish you wouldn't twist my words for the sake of argument. That really has nothing to do with what I said.

He's discussing making quality, or well made games, as opposed to the junk that is commonly seen in many BYOND games.
Creating a good roleplaying atmosphere by keeping unwanted players out is another topic altogether. |

Lol I once saw a DBZ game that warned the people in its description "If you spam this game, I will spam your pager and not stop!" It was something like that but you get the point lol. I just have to say thats mighty brainless to say that because it's obvious you can pager-ban.
Lol I thought that was funny so I just had to bring that up ;p |

Not if they spam long enough that it scrolls off the pager screen...you don't know who to ban!
|
But don't you see, that's the beauty of it. :)
I don't want people who lack imaginations to come to my mud, it tends to drag down the quality of RP. This way, I'm going to get more (at least) semi-intelligent people than I would if I barraged them with graphics.
