Personally, I use tabs rather than spaces. I not only find it easier to read, but with alt+T BYOND can also show you how many indents you have in each line.

I you're tabbing your programming as I do, just press alt+t in any .dm and it will display >> on each indent.

A better question is, how isn't this inconsistent indentation. Because it is inconsistent. I mean, look at it. It's wrong. If you knew what you were doing, you'd see that. So I'm not going to help you. I'm going to refer you to the guide, so you can understand what the hell you're doing.

You could also go into Dream Maker > Options > Code Preferences for the tabs to always show. And also change colors and font as well.
