So I haven't updated anyone on BYOND as to what I've been up to. I've been working when I can on my attempts at a BYOND-esque 3d engine. The above screenshot is my latest work. It's reading an xml file for information on "turfs", their materials, and the heights of their corners. I've implemented a networking library and am able to move spheres around with some client side prediction on more than one machine. I still need to work on other things though before I start further testing.
As for my personal life, I'll be getting married this summer, so I'm trying to save up money for that. I've been working a ridiculously easy job at the University of Pittsburgh. It ends at the end of February, but I've got some other stuff lined up, hopefully closer to home. Winter has finally hit here, took long enough... and I've been having some lousy chest pains, hopefully just from the cold.
I'm still hanging out for BYOND 4.0. I really love the way BYOND's set up, and I'll probably try to incorporate that style into most of my programming from now on.
