Most forums I'vs seen have this feature. It's not really neccessary but it might be cool.

Seems like a reasonable idea. Chances are it might sit pretty low on the priority list though, considering there are probably some other site features that the BYOND guys would consider more practical.

It has been discussed and has been stated as "useless" and "a waste of time". I wholeheartedly agree.

That topic doesn't come up when I search that. I narrowed it to just the Features forum, too. However, I can now find that other thread I mentioned in the onther post.

Forums are never meant to be a 'real-time' medium like IIRC or a group chat room (like Chatters). The format is designed to allow people to make posts, then check back later (hours or days later) for replies, not sit around and lurk. | |
