i think there should be a way to delete reviews on your hubs. say i person wants bash your game make it look bad, they make a bad review all of it lies.or half of lies.probly be a member only option but if want can make it non-member.i know you not gonna delete good reviews.but atleast could have a option to delete bad ones.

I disagree. Some people could be mad about something on a game, and then give the game a bad review out of spite. Even though a game could be properly made, the bad review would destroy it's publicity with people that just look at reviews and base their opinions off of them. This would make it fair for all people with games that don’t want others un-fairly bashing their games to delete the faulty reviews.

Anything will be abused.
Say I only want positive reviews, easy! Just delete any reviews that don't get perfect. |

I don't think there should be an option to delete reviews. I think it should be possible to hide reviews however, with something similar to the mod system in Slashdot comment threads. That is to say... Reviews would have a 'score' associated with them. This score represents how valid the community rates the review. Users would be able to rate reviews from 1 to 5, and the score would be an average of these ratings. If a review gets a bad average score, it would be hidden. Someone reading reviews would then have to click a button if they still wish to read that review. |

That's already how reviews work -- if the amount of yea's they have outweigh the nay's they have, it'll go on the main page. Too many nay's and it'll be hidden. |

Seriously, what? I couldn't understand half of what you wrote there. The "yea and nay" system isn't "way hard to do" because it's already there. Giving the author the option to hide reviews contravenes the reason why the review functionality was originally implemented: to allow others to give an unbiased (not influenced by the game author in this case) review of their game. If you don't like a review made about your game, you can a) "nay" vote the review assuming you are a member, b) actually bother to read the review and try to do something with it, so the guy who wrote the review will be more satisfied with the game (which is part of the purpose of the review system) or c) delete your hub entry and recreate it which will not only get rid of the reviews but will also cause your game to no longer be accepted in official guilds. |
Reviews are just opinions, so i guess if its bad and just a chance to bash your game then the review will just get nays(which is the proper usage of the yea and nay feature right?)... but on the brighter side it can work out that your game will get good publicity if made well.
Although i have seen this in the dreaded byond anime section but also it is a good way to see what you can improve on your game... no game is perfect ;)
