In the forums it'd be nice if it didn't automatically "tree" out from the source post. It'd be really nice if there was an arrow near every original post (up or down arrow) and you clicked it and it would open in a new window all the replies to that topic. Or something to make navigating the forum topics easier, and to let new posts acquire some room in spotlight and not to be immediately bumped from the list by long topics.

I agree that the tree view could use some work, but I'm not sure how up-to-speed on web-development Tom is and how hard it would be for him to add something like this (it's not THAT hard, but it will take work.).

Sorry to kind of hijack this thread but..
It seems all of the admins answers to major features is that they can't, because of the "hard to add" reason. I realize BYOND has gotten pretty advanced, and I'm sure the code in DM, DS, and DD have gotten pretty messy. Is it simply BYOND has gotten too advanced, and that Dan didn't really build BYOND to be "built" on? (I'm not attacking you Nadrew, I just kind of want to know why everything major that we try to add on hits a brick wall) |

I think the major brick wall in almost evey case is Time... Lots of the stuff (perhaps all of it?) that is requested is possible, but the amount of time it would take is above what the staff is able to devote to it (on top of whatever they're already working on)

In this case, Tom is the only one who would probably be comfortable enough doing it, and he's focused on the software for now.
