Some sort of an <a> tag in blog comments

This has really been bothering me. With the way that the blogs automatically visually break URLs, there really needs to be some sort of an <a> tag. I realise you don't want full blown html on the comments and all but hyperlinks are really needed.

That's what I'm thinking, it even says so at the top of the comments box

Doh! I am almost certain I tried it before(recently actually) and it didn't work. I guess I am crazy. Nevermind this request then.
