I think there should be some sort of option where you can preview your map.

Example: Turning on this feature would apply the laws of opasiety, density, lumisity, animation, etc.

And you could edit it while it is in Map Preview mode, thus when you want to make an opasity object, to test out with, you can see how it effects the rest of the map.

You can kind of code a similar system in, as if you think about it a icon game or building game is one of these, I know what your talking about though i think, your on about being able to scroll around the map with opacity and stuff without actually opening the game?

No you cant code it, you can execute any code, without compiling and running the game. This would have to be a byond sort of thing.

Thats what I ment, I didn't mean as in you wouldn't be able to compile it and run it.

But if you want to edit the map and sees hte effects and stuff, give yourself 'build' verbs and the ability to turn density of yourself on and off

You'd need to have the map save itself though. People with bad computers *cough* can't do this :P
