Is there or the possibility of having gold and platinum memberships?
To increase bandwidth allowed and total amount of files able to be uploaded, plus other additional features?

I believe it's gonna be along the lines of being able to buy extra space/bandwidth AFTER you buy the membership, but don't take my word for it.

I think it would be best not to take the membership thing too far like this. Adding enough perks to get people to subscribe to the normal membership is enough. If people want to give more, let them just outright donate.
Actually buying more space and bandwidth however, that is another matter entirely. You should not need any different special membership for that, rather only to buy what you need. | |

well my post on this topic was more in line with 4.0 coming along soon (I hope) and the better quality games might attract more people... and from what the bandwidth is allowed atm (1000mb's a month I believe?) If my game is 2 mb, or I have 4 games hosted on there and a few hundred downloads because of changing versions, etc... I wouldn't mind paying a bit more to you guys, rather then shelling it out to some other provider if I'm going to be doing it anyway.
Or just allow buying of bandwidth? Like 1000 mb for a few bucks, or whatever the amount required. I love helping you guys out but I don't want to suffer in the process of having to fork out the little money I have to another service provider. I can see byond in the future becoming more and more like a myspace for game design, or some other community style website. It's a very smart move, I don't think there's too many of those and there's a huge market for it :P My subscription for my website just recently expired, and I'm contemplating to save my money and wait it out for you guys to add more options or to go ahead and pay for the service again. | |
We've been looking into these sorts of things along with some other features. The BYOND business meeting this week went over things like "perks" for certain members, and this sort of thing is somewhat in line with what we were going for. While this concept specifically wasn't the main focus, it's something I think we'd like to see implemented eventually.
So I'm not entirely sure where this'll end up, but I'd say it's likely that something like your suggestion will be done.
