I feel the map editor could use some fill. Just as it is in a graphic editor. When you attempt to make an island(s) with no particular shape or pattern, it would be much faster to draw an outline, then fill the outline with a selected turf. I know there is already a fill, but filling up a rectangle doesn't always cut it.

Sorry if I shouldnt be saying anything here, but I was wondering, do you mean something like in RPG Maker where you click one type of turf, and when you start drawing, it builds itself based on its surroundings? For example, in RPG Maker, when you use Grass around water, the grass will make a tiny island, if you click a spot near it, they connect, and you can make an outline that way, is that what you mean?

Nah, that's what's called autojoining. You can't do it in the map editor, but you can do it at runtime. (So the effect won't appear when you're editing the map, but it will appear when you play the game.) Lummox JR has a BYONDscape article on the subject.

What he's talking about is a fill command, similar to the "paint bucket" tool that's present in most drawing applications.

I like the idea about autojoining, and I guess the fill thingy sorta make sense =\
Hmmm...I'll check out that article.
