Since when ya use BYONDs image creator ya can't make GREAT HUD images can anyone tell me a program that allows you to make images then convert them to .dmi style?

Almost every program can save .bmp files, and then those can be imported into BYOND by right-clicking in the white space in the image editor.

I use adobe or jasc psp and view the 32x32 grid. take a ingame screenshot, make that screenshot all one-color, and draw on it, copy and paste according to the 32x32 grid that is showing. easy, but takes some patience.

Open DreamMaker. Make a new icon. Graphic>Import or Ctrl+I. A select file window should open, in the dropdown (type of file) select the type of image you want. Select the file. Press Open. It may ask you if you want to split it, select yes.

Dantom posted a demo showing how to arrange your HUD on a single Z layer and add it to player's screens when they log in. Since you can post full-size PNG/BMPs in the map editor, you should probably look into that.
