Hosting Trobles

Ok I just got my DSL and I tried to host... I told my friend to join... He said he couldn't... So i closed my firewall... Nothing... I uninstalled my firewall... Nothing... I have no router... they says it just does nothing when they try to join... PLEASE HELP ME!!!

please take the time to search through the forum- this topic has been discussed time and time again. one thing to check is to make sure your friend uses the correct ip and port number.

I have searched and all i can find is to make sure that my firewall is turned off and that my router is configured correctly. Neither of these do any good for me... Im confused when you say make sure he is using the correct IP and port... He is trying to connect through the Hub... and he is not the first one who said they cant connect... they say it says "Connection Failed" when they try to connect. Please help.

Win XP has a built in firewall make sure you remove that as well.

My built in firewall is turned off... i used ".hub ping" and then used whatismyip.com to make sure it was the same... it was... i dont know what is wrong... please help me.
