Ok i got a linx box account form a site i unziped the files uploaded them with my gaming file in the host folder but i cant seem to get it to execute the dreamdaemon file...is there something im doing wrong....

assuming you uploaded the proper *linux* version of BYOND, you will then need to compile the BYOND package into an executable so that you end up with DS, DM, and DD. instructions for doing this are located in the enclosed readme.txt file.

keep in mind that not all linux distributions are created equal, and a good knowledge of the whole make/install/modify-makefile-if-necessary process is required in case you run into problems.

if you are still having trouble, patiently search through the forum for posts related to installing BYOND on *nix machines - the topic has been discussed (and often solved) many times.

also, make sure you have permission to run BYOND on the host machine. some providers do not allow the running of background processes (which is needed for BYOND unless you want to stay connected to that host via telnet all the time).

Well i dont got anything set to restrict my tel net access on the server so i dont see why it still wont work :( im just gunna use deamon thingy on an old pc and keep it up there way :D
