Well, lately much discusion has been going on about the sexually inflicted games on BYOND and weather they should be allowed since there are indeed kids that play these games. My sollution, create a pop-up window informing them of the sexual content or "porn" if you will and give them the option to continue on or cancel. Just like you see before a movie starts on TV or something.
For example.
************************************************************
This program has extreme sexual content and is not to be viewed by the younger ages. (Then a little more advice of not playing the game)
{Continue on} (Cancel)
************************************************************ Im sure you can come up with something better, and I know it may take a little work to put these on all pornigraphic games but is well worth it to keep your younger customers happy. I would create one myself for you if at all possible but im afraid I have no clue what so ever of how to do so. If you do decide to do this, you dont have to include any acknowledgments at all to me. Hope this is of use to you.

OOO! Good idea! I'll try to make a little library of an alert that asks your if you still want to play... I went to a website, didn't know that it was a pornsite, and it said it was in a popup, I clicked no and it took me to yahoo! Now that was a thoughtfull porn guy!
|
That also happened to me once. I search game cheats, and one site was "Rainbow Cheats". Turns out it was porn, but they had a nice little pop-up asking you if you stil want to enter.

Dan and Tom don't just float around the forums 24/7. Give them some time to get on and see the post.

I think it's a bad idea for Dantom to go to the trouble of creating an extra option, on the hub or otherwise, for this sort of thing. If someone wants to create an "adult" game, then it's totally their own responsibility to make sure players are adequately warned before they join or play that there's adult content.
Hub entries that don't provide such a warning can and do get deleted. It's just common sense, and anyone without common sense has no business making a game of that nature. Lummox JR |

*Sigh, still no reply from Dan or Tom, should I e-mail them? Thanks for the suggestion. The BYOND staff has seen it, and this will be considered as we make changes. |
Thanks for concidering my idea, I think it will really improve the amount of BYOND players. And yes it would save a lot of hassle if people put it on their games themselves but what can ya do
|
I finally got it worked out(Yes, it should have taken a few minutes, but I'm a dunce coder...)!
I will be submitting it to libraries and demos, but here is the code for everyone who wants to see it! mob Before I submit this, would you please help me with the wording? |
Why not just make a channel for that sort of 'stuff' and get the webmaster(Air_Mapster is it?) to code something that asks if you want to continue to that channel?

But a channel devoted to porn would make people think that BYOND was a porn site, and ban their kids from seeing it. Not to mention all the hate e-mail Dantom would get...
