The feet appear to just lift up. Use shading and shape the leg properly so it appears as if the foot has lifted up to take the step.

I changed it up as you said. How is that?

It's definitely better, but think about how you walk normally. If you have to, go to a mirror and walk in place. More than just your lower legs and arms move when you walk. Everything should flow together nicely.

I changed the shoulder movement a bit. Does it look better or worse? Thank you in advance.
In response to Rudwh2009
Yeah. I'm no pixel artist, but the upper body looks fine to me.

I tried side walking. And It definitely looks weird. Lacking a lot of things. What else should I do?
In response to Rudwh2009
Your arms are bending on the SOUTH state I think that you should have them bending on this state as well.

Oh. Thank You.
However, when I tested these icons in Icon Ultima, they looked rather stiff.
Is there a way to make them look more natural?
In response to Rudwh2009
Add more states of the animation.
In response to Rudwh2009
You need to actually bend the legs during the animation. Surely you dont walk with your legs straight the entire time.

Pshhh.. I do! :3

Could you post the whole animation? If there is one

Oh Sadly, because this is my 2nd time working on a base icon. (Well almost 2nd time working on a icon as a whole)
I only made this state, and went straight to walking state (yet another failutre). But neither of them are great... I guess I'm not much of a pixel artist.

I saw your animations....Very stiff(fankeinsteinish)....Since your Base is quite big it needs more detail than a pokemon style base.By detail i mean your animation will need more states to completely look natural 6-8 to be exact.

Look here this is a simple walking animation for your type of base.....the red guy you see there needs to be added en the end again but opposite legs crossing.

Your base says different,You can achieve what you want just need to work a little more, you think all of us who pixel/sprite reached this height of skill in a day?

Ah, thank you for the link!
Now I will find one like that for the south and north walking state and redo the whole thing.

With all of your help, I completely re-worked my base icon.
Can you guys tell me some things to fix if there are?
