A base icon work in process. I need advices on how to improve it.
I think the coloring on it is bad. Advices or Criticisms?
This is my second try at base icons.

Looks ok,other than the fact that on side vies the arm closer to us should be lower and seem longer atm it looks short.

How is the shading and contrast between tones? I tried my best; however, I'm not familiar with shading nor coloring (setting contrast between tones) |

Thank you for your advice! I will try to make it warmer. Bit abour how intense should the color be? I was trying to make it semi realistic/anime style |

Nothing more intense then the colors I posted will be necessary for a white skintone, unless you are aiming for some sort of highly stylized game. If you plan to have multiple nationalities obviously your colors will need to be darker and warmer.

Thank You again. I have a question though. Does that base icon look anime styled as I intended to make?

The original does have an anime feel the boxcar edit doesn't at least to me.

Well anime has a broad style but I could see it in an anime style byond game.

On the original one, is the shading done properly?

Since you seem to really want critique on shading--heres some ok i opened it up with paint and i dislike how you made the collar bone darker than the the shoulder i added some shading to arms to let the eyes see there's dimension and not just flat surface. The arm has elbow where it dips you might wanna make this darker, same with back of knees and lower back. |

My edit on left yours original on right. Note-My side views arnt best so you will need to use good judgment on this. Sorry im not best at explaining, ill try.In the "dip" of the inner elbow use the darker shade,on the ribs under the arm should also be shaded. The chest,on chest there should be more shading, and legs are cylindrical, which can be thrown out by not curving your shading. |

If that is your only punching state, you need to do some others. Make him pull back, punch, then follow through. It looks better, and more realistic.

The feet appear to just lift up. Use shading and shape the leg properly so it appears as if the foot has lifted up to take the step.
