So like I said in my other wip I'm a noob to pixel art(as you will see by my next statement) so I was reading a tutorial and discovered proper shading involving a light source makes stuff look better lol any opinions?

Though your trying a light source, and that is great, what your doing is more of a gradient. A gradient is more of a transition from a light color to a darker one in one direction, and still makes it look flat. You have to consider where light hits an object. Things that stick out or are closer to the light source will be brighter, but things that aren't as close or things that are sunken in, or behind something will be darker. So. such as your base, the pecks on the chest would stick out, and the sides of the belly would be darker. ;)

Instead of making multiple post, you should have kept it in your previous one. Thanks I'll keep that in mind also ![]() vs ![]() any better? |
