WIP, hence the WIP section.
Harry Kowalski (a reference to Clint Eastwood's roles Harry Callahan and Walt Kowalski) is a reformed criminal and is now sent into war.
The story is actually short stories, each of which are divided into mixed feelings on war and from the eyes of a soldier as effectively as I can detail it.
Decided to make character art so I would know how to describe Harry so here's the picture so far! (PS: Pixel art, wish I had a tablet then I could do much better!)
Still need to do hair, main body (or rather what's shown) and memory fragments from things such as killing mother and children, killing innocent young men forced into war, watching friends die, the boredom of waiting, the fear, and the happiness...

.... Mass murderer?
I just put him as reformed criminal going to war instead of going to jail so he can 'earn' his 'freedom' o.o and yeah I get the whole unrealistic thing, I hate my track pad and with a tablet the line art would be a lot better '_' |

And by that I meant drafted soldiers in a fictional corrupted version (as if its not corrupted enough) of the world.

The mouth is too close to the nose, and the nose extends further out in one side than the other. One side is also rounder than the other.
As for the story, it's pretty overused. Now that you've made him a mass-murderer, you have to give him some sort of reasonable way to stay out of prison. Not being caught is rare in this time-period, or rather the FBI and government agencies make it seem that way. Not only that, but you now have to find a new motivation, because if you make the story about him just being in war, it'll be very boring. Unless you're one of those writers who can make everything sound edgy, which is a hard status to reach.
I suggest you add some sort of twist to the story, something that'll make me say, "Really!?" because this is the classic Twisted Metal character background. Murdering someone, or being deformed(mentally or physically). It has the potential to be a good story if you add some sort of twist. Mass killing of close family members is common in many pieces in action, these are the heartless, and cold people. Either they do it out of duty, or out of insanity. However, mass killing isn't a good background. It's like making a zombie movie, that has characters that are counterparts to another movie, and have a slightly editted script.

The idea is just a bit bland nowadays. It may have struck fear into the hearts of fellow movie-goers/book-readers of the early 1900's but it's just not scary anymore. Especially since most people figure they'll find some random house blunt in a split second if they see him.
I recommend this to you, and all story-writers/bards(if you will) to listen to Shakespeare and Dragons: Worldbuilding 101 Podcast. One of the best tutorials of being a writer that I've ever listened to, it applies logic to everything, so that you can avoid things like a nonsensical story, or unnecessary side-plots.
