Welcome to the official BYOND Anime Games Guild!
Considering that the slice of BYOND's population that this Guild will be serving is perhaps the largest portion of users, I expect to get this place pretty hopping!
Currently, there's nothing ready, as the work has just begun. However, the (dragon) ball will be rolling soon!
Looking around BYOND space, it is very apparent that Dragon Ball and Naruto are the most widely represented titles, so expect the majority of activity around here to revolve around those.
But all others are welcome as well! In fact, others are encouraged! I'd really like to see anime fans in general bringing their love of other titles to game form (or even just some friendly discussions in the forums which will be added to this guild)
Around the BYOND listing, I see a few other titles with a handful of games, like Bleach, One Piece, Death Note, Hamtaro, etc. But there is a VERY long list of anime titles out there, waiting to find their way to a BYOND game...

I'm sure a nice Akira game could be made on BYOND (though at the moment I can't imagine how one would fashion the movie into a game, let alone a multiplayer game, but I'm sure it is possible... especially if one makes a singleplayer "campaign" that follows the storyline of the movie, then throws in some multiplayer "minigames" that get creative with some of the elements of the film, like that cool bike, or gang wars, or something involving telekinetic powers)
Hopefully, over the life of this thing, we'll be able to foster that sort of branching away from the two big guns of DBZ and Naruto... But, for the time being, since the BYOND Anime scene depends very heavily on those two titles, this guild will have a definite focus in their direction... | |

Deadron mentioned that some series might be large enough to become subguilds. I'm not suggesting creating them yet. I'm just thinking ahead to when a subguild is created.
You currently have two specific series listed. I'm wondering if it might be worth sticking with something more general so you don't have forums left over when/if a subguild is created. Of course, the ability to move a forum to another guild could help, but I'm not sure that such a thing is planned. Mind you, this is from someone who is more likely to lurk for viewing suggestions than join for games so my suggestion may not mean much. =) | |
Yeah, if there were to be some sort of sub-guilds set up, DBZ and Naruto are most easily the best candidates...
The problem, though, is that if this guild therefore ignores them in hopes that they'll be set up under their own sub-guilds, eventually, then this guild will have very little to do...lol Anime in general around BYOND boils down to DBZ, Naruto, and a couple dozen games from some other series, many of which might not even be worthy of official endorsement... So really, until the time comes (if ever) that those two juggernauts are spun off onto their own, this guild needs to handle them... And if/when that day comes, anyways, it's a trivial matter to close down the redundant areas of this guild, and let everyone know to migrate to their respective sub-guild... Most forum content for those two series can simply be moved to the more general anime forum, or simply deleted, with little to no impact... | |
