Well, last night I got my very first opportunity to play on a Wii...

One of my cousins has one, and we were over at their house for his sister's (obviously also my cousin) birthday party...

We only had time to play some WiiSports Tennis and Boxing (couldn't turn the poor girl's birthday party into a Wii fest, so we had to wait until things had settled down, but by then it was almost time to go)

And it only served to make the craving stronger... I need one of those!

Unfortunately, though, I didn't do any warm-up stretches, and we went through numerous rounds of boxing, in which I was using the Wiimote to its full, TV-smashing projectile potential, so my arms/shoulders are a little sore...

Which is completely and utterly awesome...
True true!
The Wii's are inovative. They just need better games now.
I didn't care for the boxing. Too much movement for me.
Tennis is the best, if you ask me.

My Mii is a big black guy named Tyrone Biggums.
He has an afro, big lips, a goatee, porkchop sideburns, and a mustache.

He rocks.
Yeah, I really liked the Tennis... It would have been nicer to have some control over where your player ran to, though... It appeared to be on an auto-follow course to try to run after the ball... I'd have liked to be able to anticipate the trajectory myself, and head to the proper place...

Of course, perhaps there was that kind of control, and I was just too inexperienced to notice/use it, but nothing I tried along those lines seemed to have any effect... All I could do was swing the racket... What would be really neat is if my position in the room determined my position on the game's court... Actually running from one side of the room to the other to catch a stray shot would be excellent (though I'd think that this feature would have to be toggleable, so people who just want to sit down can still play effectively)

Oh, I forgot we played a few frames of Bowling right before I had to leave... That was pretty cool, too... Though I couldn't keep my wrist straight enough on the release, and kept putting too much spin on the ball... I'd almost need one of those wrist braces real bowlers use...lol

But I absolutely loved the Boxing... I got my ass handed to me, due to lack of practice, but it was a really fun time... Though the concept of having to exercise to play a video game seems counter-intuitive, I thought the physical involvement added so much to the experience (which is why the fact that it made my shoulders sore is actually a pro, rather than a con)
As far as I know, there isn't any control over your Mii on the Tennis Court besides swinging the racket but that's alright with me. Though, your idea on where your position is in the room will determine the location of your Mii on the court (and it being toggled on/off for the lazy players) is a really neat idea. I'd like to see it.

Bowling, to me, is extremely fun on Wii Sports. I always have to put a backspin, though, because if I try and throw it straight or use a normal spin I'll usually end up in the gutter. I'm right handed, by the way.

However, Boxing HAS to be my favorite Wii Sport. I love all the movement that is involved and just the overall experience of it each time you play and I've fetched myself the Pro Rank on there too.

Unfortunately... I do not have a Nintendo Wii. I've been playing on my friends. I COULD have gotten one if I wasn't out of town on it's release because a friend of mine and his girlfriend camped at Wal-Mart to get his (I have no idea why he wouldn't also buy me one too. I was going to pay him back.) and he's very happy with it. I did find one available Wii in a store out of town and was going to purchase it but the requirement for me to even be able to BUY the damn thing was to also buy TWO Wii Games and a $40 Gift Certificate making the total price of it over $400. I didn't buy it after that, I couldn't.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I tend to talk a lot on subjects like this.
We've replaced every instance of "Wii" in SuperSaiyanGokuX's blog post with "Wang." Let's see if he notices:

Well, last night I got my very first opportunity to play on a Wang...

One of my cousins has one, and we were over at their house for his sister's (obviously also my cousin) birthday party...

We only had time to play some WangSports Tennis and Boxing (couldn't turn the poor girl's birthday party into a Wang fest, so we had to wait until things had settled down, but by then it was almost time to go)

And it only served to make the craving stronger... I need one of those!

Unfortunately, though, I didn't do any warm-up stretches, and we went through numerous rounds of boxing, in which I was using the Wangmote to its full, TV-smashing projectile potential, so my arms/shoulders are a little sore...

Which is completely and utterly awesome...
It's strange to say, but my favourite thing about WiiSports is that it comes in a proper case. The same goes for WiiPlay. It would have annoyed me to no end if I had to keep WiiSports and WiiPlay in those crappy little cardboard covers that most demo/free games come with.

I think WiiSports has sold more consoles than all their media campaigns combined.

That joke already occured to me when typing the post... There's just no way around it, though (I made a feeble attempt by using "play on a Wii", instead of "play with a Wii", but that ultimately only made it sound more awkward)

Reading it with your edits made me (literally) laugh out loud, though...
