The current zenkai system is set to use a zenkai_mod [ A mod at birth or creation determining the multiplier behind their zenkai] and the level of injury to determine just how much power a Saiyan player will gain when healing fully from these conditions.
However Zenkai will remain dormant until the month change immediately after all of the Saiyan's injuries are 100% healed. [This means sometimes it may benefit your character to take it easy in order to fully heal from injuries, if they want to gain zenkai faster.
This system is 100 complete and fully functional
