At least as far back as 2015, there has been generally positive talk on open-sourcing the webclient. It is stickied to the first page of the first thread of Developer Help, and has been mentioned candidly in response to other threads.
I personally would like to utilize this as a basis for other thin clients. Is there anything I can do to help expedite this process?

the webclient is basically a websocket enabled DS client -- it uses nearly the exact same (albeit unencrypted) protocol

Unless you think every TCP protocol is the same. Or I missed BYOND’s protocol being disclosed somewhere. |
