Adding overlays to turf player is standing on?

Problem description: Basically i want to add cracked ground to my game when a character is powering up over a certain powerlevel. I want the ground to crack under the player but i don't know the function for placing an overlay on the turf. Could someone assist me?

You would place the crater obj on the turfs location.

See the flow chart. You want an obj, not a turf overlay.
