Alright.. I recently decided that I'm not going to be able to afford a PS3 just yet..so I decided I will have to settle for a Wii for now. It'll be all good for the time being. I have already decided on getting it, but as I browse around the Upcoming releases section for Wii, there really is nothing short of Suck coming up within the next 6 months. I mean...Really. When I was planning on how to get a ps3 and conversing with Nintendo fans..The entire argument they posed was the great game selection that the Wii had to offer...As I look around the sea of games for little kids such as:
Open season
Barnyard
The Ant Bully
Ice Age 2
Chicken Little
-Which by the way are all of the releases in the next 2 weeks..oh wait..the only non-kiddie game coming out is FarCry Vengeance..Which looks like a crappy game anyway..If I saw it on the shelfs I probably wouldnt even buy it.
I can only see myself actually playing 4 to 5 games they're releasing in the next 5 months
So for now..with this crappy game selection for the next few months..(i've looked ahead..nothing really seemed interesting until june first..thats like nintendo's D-Day) I can only see myself playing zelda and maybe a few shooting games..other than that there is really no good game selection with this system compared to its competitors...Spam it if you want..Can't fight the truth.

Dark, they had like 8 games at launch. Most of them were on the 360 also. | |
Super Smash Bros: Brawl. Metroid Prime 3. Red Steel. (Although I've heard that it's got some problems)

Here's the problem, Ice. Almost every Console to date has had the problem. After the XBox 360 came out, it got almost no games for half a year. The same thing's also going to happen to the PS3, just like it's going to happen with the Wii.

The reason why there's so many childish games is that Nintendo is "a family console", meaning they try to make games for almost everyone rather than for teenagers, which X360/PS3 is mainly shooting at.
X360/PS3: More violence, more graphics, more language, maybe a sex scene or a few hidden ones == PWN Nintendo: Make games for children, have game for adults who don't play/like "general" games, make old classics as 'old is gold', have violent game for teens == More money Atleast, that's my theory | |
After spending 5 hours playing Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz with a friend, I am going to say that writing a game off because it seems "childish" is a silly thing.
Already I've had so much play time out of Wii Sports and Monkey Ball, alone, to warrant my purchase, and I've still yet to even touch Zelda or get very far in Trauma Center. Throw into the mix Metroid Prime, Smash Bros, Wii Play, and Wii Music, and I'll have so many addictions to deal with. | |

I've read these posts...and well..I'm not saying I WONT get a ps3..I know I eventually will..but the Wii seems like a cheap alternative currently..or a settlement if you will..Also..I'm forced to use this Wii CSS because the nice blue CSS nish gave me failed >.> this ones sorta neat...Anyways..As for PS3s game selection..it does seem to be better than nintendos for the time being..as for people talking about metroid and super smash brothers..Those games dont come out for a good 7 months..So dont mention them yet..
