Actually, I was asking the opposite. I wanted to know if you could use the old controllers on the new console (new console meaning the Wii) when you play the older games on it.

As far as I know (someone speaking who does NOT own a Wii), Wii can only use its' controllers (including the "classical" controller style of the wiimote) and GameCube controllers.
