Zelda -- I wasn't dying to play this game, but I bought it because I'm a huge Zelda fan. After an hour of playing I'm completely hooked. The controls are amazing, and make the game feel completely fresh. So far the story and style of the game is taking the series in a whole new direction, and I love it. From what I've seen so far, anyone who buys a Wii should get their hands on a copy of this game.

Red Steel -- I've been incredibly underwhelmed by this game so far. A big issue is that the graphics are pretty crappy (even compared to Gamecube games). I'm still getting used to the controls, but I feel like I'm constantly fighting them. Hopefully things will get better, but right now this game just isn't doing it for me.

DBZ: Tenkaichi -- I played this for an hour or so last night. There is a massive learnng curve in getting used to the controls. I have a feeling that it will actually be pretty fun once I get past that. Luckily, you can also plug in Gamecube controllers to play the game.

Wii Sports -- This game comes bundled with every Wii. It's an absolute blast, and should be the first thing that you play.

I love the interface for the system itself... the whole "Mii" thing is pretty cool. I'm going to get a classic controller tonight so that I can download a few snes games.

I am very impressed with the Wii. There is obviously a lot of room for improvement, but the potential seems limitless. I'm fighting the urge to go out and buy more games just for the sake of seeing how other games take advantage of the controllers.
I guess the opinion of the Nintendo Power staff has been verified. I remember at E3 how Red Steel was one of the games that Nintendo gave a significant chunk of time to. When I began reading the article, from last month's NP, on NP staff's Top 5 Wii Games list it took me by complete surprise to see only one of the staff members to list it and even he only put it at #3 in his list. I guess Red Steel truly didn't live up to its expectations.

Edit: I didn't have much luck in getting a Wii today. I lazed around until 11 a.m. then began making phone calls to every business I could think up in a 15 mile radius. EB, GameCrazy, Best Buy, Target, Wal Mart, K Mart, Circuit City, Toys 'R Us, etc. etc. Everyone was sold out! Though not like I'm missing much anyways, even if I did get it it'd be locked up until Christmas morning anyways. Hopefully I can get one during one of the next shipments.

Oh my gawd!! Where the heck where you?!?!?! Most people wanted Wii just for Zelda... like myself!!!

PS: Do the GameCube games look better in Wii?
Hmmm... I haven't tried booting up any Gamecube games yet. I'll see if it makes a difference.
haha, i just didnt think it would be a launch game. I thought it would come out maybe a few months after the wii was released.

You're kind of right. If we were talking about the Game Cube version. Maybe you got the two mixed?
I'm getting a Wii next Friday =3
Hey, We have a Wii at my house now. :D.
Could you give us some more information on all the wii sports games?
Tennis - Great game. You can even put top spin/back spin on the ball. This game is good in smaller doses... I get a bit bored after playing it for a long time.

Baseball - It's a lot more fun to hit than it is to pitch. It's pretty basic but it has definitely wet my apetite for a *real* Wii baseball game.

Bowling - Really, really cool. The controls take a bit more getting used to on this one, but it's worth it. Putting spin on the ball is a must if you want to get strikes.

Golf - Awesome game. This is one is killer for a large group of people. The controller is flat out *perfect* for this game. I may end up buying a full-fledge Wii golf game because of this.

Boxing - My favorite game, but also the least sensitive when it comes to controls. There is just something really satisfying about raining punches on your opponent and knocking them out. I have yet to play this multiplayer, but I have a feeling that that will make it even better.

lol. Silk likes playing with his wee Wii.
dats a gud 1 hakitol0l
Wait, I am confused. You can play Super Nintendo (SNES), and GameCube games on the Nintendo Wii? What other Nintendo systems can you use on it? Like the older ones? Also, do you have to download the games or do you have to own it? Such as there being different shape slots and you put in your own game. Also, do you use the Wii controller to play the games for the older consoles? Such as the SNES? Or do you use the SNES controller?
Varian,

On the Wii, you can play ALL of your GameCube games. Besides just that, you can download games from...

-NES
-SNES
-Sega Genisis
-Turbografix(spelling might not be right)
-N64

The virtual controller which Silk mentioned, allows you to play all of those older games with it, as it has the right buttons to do so.
Okay, screw the PlayStation 3, I am getting the Wii. I have two more questions though:

1.) Does the Wii allow you to play the older games with the older controllers as well? (ex: you are playing an SNES game and can use the SNES controller to play it).

2.) Are there any known bugs/glitches with the console?

Thanks.
Varian, to answer your first question:

The Wii does not allow you to play an older console with that controller, HOWEVER, there is a classic controller (sold separately) that is like an SNES controller with a lot more buttons, which allows you to play all the virtual console games.
I want to know what exactly is so great about the zelda game, I was looking forward to getting red steel. After watching a few trailers, but people keep telling me don't bother.

So I need more info please :)
Well, first of all the Zelda game is absolutely beautiful. Sure the graphics aren't on par with the PS3 or anything, but the art design is amazing.

This time around, Zelda is a much, much darker game. The storyline is a lot more mature and the characters are way more interesting. I don't know how to explain it, but the game's presentation is different than previous Zelda games. It feels like more of an RPG, even though it isn't. Whatever the difference is: it's a good thing!

I just finished playing through the first dungeon last night. It was by far the best first dungeon in any Zelda game I've ever played. The whole game just feels so fresh but at the same time sticks to the Zelda formula.
