Mike has added a listing of Benefactors, which you can see on the left side of the Members page (or go here for the full list).

Benefactors are those who have donated memberships to others, or donated directly to BYOND. We are deeply grateful for their contribution and generosity, and want to make sure they are recognized.

We may come up with some additional ways to recognize benefactors in the future.
isByondBenefactor().

=D Why not have 3 classes in the BYOND community?
Question: If a Benefactor was to say "Don't show me on the list" would they instantly get off the list? And then a few minutes later if they said "Put me on the list" would they get put back instantly and in the correct position?

Suggestion: Most non-members never visit the members section. It'd be better advertising for you guys if you put it on the hub aswell.

Try it. :)

We're looking at ways to make the Members stuff more visible to the community at large. We can certainly factor in Benefactors as well.
For those wondering about the question, you do instantly get taken off the list + get put back instantly in the correction position.
Woohoo! That means I was at the top for a second. =P
benefactor recognition is cool! i'm glad to be on the list. just wish i was in the top 5... hmm... maybe i can sell my body on the street corner and buy more memberships...
You missed a ")" on the post by the way.
Mike H:

Your sneaky sister found a loophole - by using your account and buying the membership as a gift for you (checking the "Buy this as a gift" box during the order process), it qualified as a donation even though the buyer was the recipient. I've updated the processing to ignore that case, so you should fall off the list within the next hour or so. Of course, you're more than welcome to take any steps to get back on. :)

Oh Also: I have a request.
Could there it be possable, on the benifactors list, to have how much money they donated?
Example
Flame Sage ($15)
I donated my wallet's balance to BYOND, $5 whole bucks, via the extend membership form choosing mail in payment type. Didn't see any pay with dimes option though the balance does shows on the page. Gave me the impression dimes can be donated or used to buy membership, just isn't in the drop down. That and when making a request on what to do with my dimes, donating to BYOND via the membership/donate form was suggested.

Was order #26381 for just a donation. Did I go about this in the correct way? If not, consider this my request to have my wallet's contents thrown back into the mine.
