Sun's Java has just been open source'd! Although all the branches of Java are not yet open source, they have all the code available by March of 2007.
This means a lot, all around. Most cell phones run on a java based OS (9/10 of them or something close to that).
Sun has been a part of the open sourced movement for years. Thanks to them, OpenOffice.org is now a 100% viable option to Microsoft's Office.

The tidbit about Crispy dying inside is based on his dislike of java in general.

Java on phones is fine. It runs really well on 'em, and any software can be ported for every different model.

Not even one comment about how cool it is that Crispy's post is post number one-two-three-four?

I didn't even notice it. Way to go Crispy for snagging one of those "weird" numbers.
