With the addition of subscriptions and credits, BYOND went from hobby game development to potential income source. In that regard, it's also very odd in my opinion that it doesn't support shared ownership for hubs or some equivalent.
People can get weird with money, and they can get especially weird when it's all online. The potential to remove the developers that may have helped make the entire game from your hub and then say, subsequently change the PayPal email is a definite risk that BYOND doesn't address. It would be a nice addition to have a higher role than 'helper', a permanent ownership level role that can be given to all members of a team.
The argument could be said that developers should create binding contracts, but these are not entirely enforceable when people may live in different countries, and even then I doubt developers here have the financial stability to wage a legal battle over an indie game.

Addendum. It would also be nice to have a lockout on changing PayPal emails. Maybe you're able to change them once every seven days for security reasons. If someone needs something changed inside of that, maybe have BYOND Support be the way to go.

The proper way to do that is make the change take time, with some sort of notification and the ability to cancel the change. So it takes like 3 to 7 days for a paypal change to go thru, and there is a notification on the site and the pager for all of those 7 days for anybody who owns the hub. Make it configurable, but make changes to that config take 7 days to apply |
