Iccusion BYOND Games Contest 2006 Results!

It is with great pleasure to bring to you the long awaited results for the Iccusion BYOND Games Contest of 2006!

We would like to inform everybody who participated that we have slightly reduced the prizes due to lack of turn out and quality of games. The bad results of this contest are not fair to Iccusion Entertainment or the BYOND community. More effort was deserved.

The prizes will be handed out within the next week. Winners please be patient as we go through the information and send the prizes out.

Thank you everybody for your participation and we hope that the Iccusion BYOND Games Contest 2007 will be better.

Piss off! It's pretty insulting for you lot to say that. I looked at your results page and not only were there loads of entries, but I remember playing a few and the games were pretty damn good.

Their contest, their rules, Elly. It's perfectly fair for them to change the prizes they're awarding because they consider the games substandard.

Why did XxDohxX get third place when his Overall was 8.5 and the second place winner's overall was only 8?

I guess I'm pretty good at these contest things. I have a couple different PayPal addresses, depending on what payment method you're using. I'll e-mail you ([email protected]).

Oh poop. 7th place. If I had improved my graphics I might have made Honorable Mention. Meh. If only I had completed Terra ex Machina in time for the contest. Damn school. =(

Overall is not your final score. That's a general overall rating of the game. The official score is the big numbers /10.0 below it.

Maybe the next programming contest we'll give people 6 months. ;). Then there's no excuse for having subpar entries.
Maybe it should start as BYOND 4.0 comes out... so people could abuse it for the contest. =D

Heh, I'm looking forward to that. Both the Iccusion Contest and the GIAD were entertaining. Now if only the GIAD judges would hurry up. =p

Hmm, I don't get how I got a 4 on professionalism. It was a pretty well designed game, and better then some of the ones above me.

You got a 4 on professionalism because it was sloppy, the game didn't seem to come together...everything was mixed and matched.
