Is there any way to make a Macro work without the default window selected?

I'm trying to make a custom input, where a box pops up and you can
enter text into the input, the input does nothing but I want Enter to activate
a proc that takes the text from the input and makes it into a var to display as a name or chat

You need to set the macro family of the window to the one you want to handle key events.
