That's the crash caused by that security update.
|
Crashing for me again. Uninstalled the security update yesterday now it's back to crashing. Using Windows 10, don't have Internet Explorer. Flash is up to date, and I don't use Avast or any other anti-virus but Common Sense 2017 Professional Edition.

It probably re-installed. That's been an ongoing issue for users who haven't switched to manual updates.

Managed to fix it for now by changing the level of Security in Internet Options to High before joining a game, then switching it back to Medium-High or else you won't download certain things from games. |
If it's crashing, look at the event viewer. If it shows the exact same crash details, that update did in fact come back--as it has been for most people. The thing is like a weed.

Fully Disabling updates in windows 8,8.1,10 such that they don't get reenabled automatically:
Right click on the start menu button (8/8.1 right click on the bottom left corner of the screen while in desktop view) in the right click menu services, (or if that isn't showing up, computer management then from there, go to services and applications, then services to get to the same spot) (another way to get here, would be to right click on my computer and click manage) Find the windows update service, this list is ordered alphabetically so it should be near the bottom. Right click it and open properties. In the tab that opens, there should be a drop down labeled "startup type", Remember what this is currently set to, incase you want to re-enable updates. Then set it to disabled. After that, hit the stop button to stop the update service (if this part doesn't work, you can reboot instead) |
I'm having the same issue here that started today:
- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/ event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2016-01-02T21:06:15.113612500Z" /> <EventRecordID>3924</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>LuckySara-HP</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>dreamseeker.exe</Data> <Data>5.0.509.1316</Data> <Data>566b329e</Data> <Data>KERNELBASE.dll</Data> <Data>10.0.10586.0</Data> <Data>5632da1c</Data> <Data>80000003</Data> <Data>001382e2</Data> <Data>11cf8</Data> <Data>01d145a1675f94a5</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files (x86)\BYOND\bin\dreamseeker.exe</Data> <Data>C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\KERNELBASE.dll</Data> <Data>d72ccc78-d2d9-4f87-923e-b1e91c0c781d</Data> <Data /> <Data /> </EventData> </Event> The patch KB3132372 is also in a Updates are available section, but another part is saying it needs to restart my laptop to finish installing: http://puu.sh/mhf3h/45cedf32e8.png http://puu.sh/mhgwV/5ceef07bcb.png |

And uninstalling that update will fix the issue as promised.

I tried seeing about uninstalling the patch, it's not within the list to uninstall. So do I let it install and then get rid of it? or what?

If you already uninstalled the update, a reboot may be required.

it wasn't uninstalled nor installed, my laptop wants to install it.
|
Then it's already "installed", it's just waiting on a restart to finish the install, trust me, restart, uninstall, disable updates, game on.

Question, If the Windows updates were automatic, would start up type be Automatic? I only ask cause mine says Manual. But I'll try that.
