Lately, I've really wanted to make some sort've TBS (I hadn't thought about it until Ultimatum came, as well as it's large fanbase.) So, I've come up with some ideas for it, stated below. Tell me what you think.
My concept is this: You control an elite special forces squad, whose objective is to capture a preset amount of control points on a map. Now, it isn't that simple, of course. You have rivals who also want control of those points, and are willing to fight you for it.
Now, to assist you with your goal, each turn, you will draw at least one card (One card + one for every objective you own.) These cards can do anything from allowing you to advance farther, calling in armored support, or even calling in bombers to obliterate your enemy. Some objectives will determine your probability of getting certain cards (For example, perhaps the ability to gain bombing cards would require control of an airfield.)
The soldiers should have pretty good AI; Moving from cover to cover would be an essential tactic for your squad, and it should be done automatically by the AI, should you choose to allow it to do so.
I'm really happy with the concept. Questions? Comments?

Sounds nice in theory. Good luck with it.
