Especially 3:15. This video should help you overcome being called the wrong pronoun, getting scammed/having your source leaked, and will assist in you abandoning the belief that life is essentially Disneyland, full of nothing but joy, laughter, and bright colors. |

It does nothing for those things. It's a video about management, not preventative measures. It may help you AFTER those things happened, but it won't help you PREVENT those things from happening.
|
Very good video and goes well with my general thoughts of life. I think anyone and not just this community could learn something from it.

but it won't help you PREVENT those things from happening. How do we prevent Earthquakes and Tsunamis? This addresses the things which are not in our control. When you accept what you cannot change you find peace. |

If it has a cause, it can be prevented. Nuff sed.
To extrapolate, you can't change the fact that Lugia is GOING to try and shit on your thread and generally be an asshole towards you and everyone. But you CAN simply not care. See, this isn't even correct. You can easily block Lugia from posting in any of your threads. Boom, preventative measure activated, no need to worry about what would happen if Lugia shat on your thread because you've made it impossible by design. |

The causes of Earthquakes are tectonic shifts. The Earth will eventually have no more tectonic shifts. There are measures that you can use to prevent Earthquakes from impacting your life, and indeed, there are houses built to be Earthquake resistant.
Long story short, you can stop it from affecting you or stop it altogether. Stop being a pansy and take hold of your own life. |

Lugia I don't have you blocked because when you're in a thread rofls are not far behind xD

You're lucky Kats has me blocked or I would've majorly cashed in on that other thread about trans pronouns. Not only am I the only person in this community that religiously uses gender-neutral pronouns, but I'm probably the member of this community mis-gendered more than anyone else.

Yep, I still pretty much know nothing about you and that includes your gender.

Haha. I think the irony here is that the only people who listen to Lugia are stoics.

Do you ever post anything of actual substance? Or are you just an all-around shitposter? Seriously, go back to being Rip Nation where you actually served a purpose.
Bertrand Russell associated Stoicism as a slave philosophy. That's all it amounts to, aside from being scientifically antiquated. It doesn't work in the modern world as a whole because it ties together primitive ideas, ideas that have since been superseded. Every quote you see from a stoic has a relevant context. Taking them out of context is no different than the random quotes with disgusting Minion jpegs you see show up in your FB feed. Believing something like all matter being suffused with pneuma while being structured by "universal reasoning" is asinine. It's no different than believing a man walked on water, or turned water into wine, etc. Even you ignore those ridiculously outdated beliefs, you're still left with essentially being passive drone. http://www.update.uu.se/~fbendz/library/has_reli.htm http://rationallyspeaking.blogspot.com/2007/03/ problem-with-stoicism.html http://infidels.org/library/modern/fred_edwords/ stoicism.html http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/30/ a-crack-in-the-stoic-armor/?_r=0 http://www.patheos.com/blogs/unequallyyoked/2013/06/ modern-stoicism-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly.html https://books.google.com/ books?id=lR2kxd17v44C&pg=PA16&lpg=PA16&dq=stoics+outdated&so urce=bl&ots=u8C1bu4UYI&sig=3AEjcWO1wqwCjE1kYbXlRe1upes&hl=en &sa=X&ved=0CDMQ6AEwA2oVChMI1tHY4a7xyAIVzTWICh1nlwBt#v=onepage &q=stoics%20outdated&f=false If you want to give this community some solid advice, you should have posted this: |
Why denial isn't the way to live life. Living an abduction of what my faith guarantees isn't the way, my child. Why besiege yourself around imaginary optimism when you can worship our Lord and Savior and have the promises fulfilled to you?
The only thing Stoicism will get you is a countless wave of stabbings in an endless river of flame. I'll pray for you to see the light so you can come join me in the eternal heavens. Love thy Jesus. Love him more than your family and praise thy be! |
