Ever had the pleasure of doing this?
 It's fun, ain't it? Well I made a DMI unpacker, which takes a DMI file and unpacks it into its component images. So instead the process looks like this:  If nothing else, this should at least make updating your wikis and websites easier, since extracting icons is a pain. Source and instructions provided on Github DMI2PNG. Unfortunately I had to share this under GPL, I'd've preferred MIT, but I'm using some MediaWiki stuff, which forces me into GPL. | |

Just curious, why do you prefer MIT over GPLv2/3?

Because MIT does not force consumers and future developers into GPL. GPL requires that all forks of this remain open-source, whereas MIT allows the use of this software in closed-source applications.

Out of curiosity, did you know that you can open DMI files in any image editor that can edit png files?

Yup. I actually made a tutorial on this back in the day. Specifically on how to do DMI -> PNG -> DMI.
