I'm not used to making shadows either. So that ought to look odd. (that's supposed to be a gun being taken out of the coat by the way.) |
Well, this was meant to be an animation. I got ONE frame done at least!... out of like 7 that i meant to do. Getting distracted and losing the motivation to get back to a drawing is annoying. |

Uh, I don't even start my pixel art with an outline for one. And that doesn't cure the "motivation" portion.

I've got this project that uses 8 directions, isometric and figured out that, even with a 4 frame walk, I'd end up doing 32 sprites for one character. And that only one state (others include spells, attacking, defending, dying, etc.) It's pretty overwhelming to think about. I dunno how to get around that. Knowing that you'll show it, maybe? Or saving the keyframes that are funnest to work on till after the boring ones. Deadlines seem to help me a bit. Anyway, I really like the armored figure! You managed chainmail on a small scale really well. The stance is good, too. I like the face on the spellcaster. Something about his/her stance, tho. It seems like he/she is being pulled back instead of pushed, if that makes sense? Also, it doesn't look like the fire is self-luminous. It appears like it's lit from above. Even if you don't animate, it's pretty damn good work. :) |
I think the shadow turned out well. I like the shading on the jacket and shirt and the way it casts a shaow on the pants.
Hope you post more!
