Dream maker automatically cuts out icon states if there's more than 512 icon states in a file, and makes it read only, this is intentional, and the reason is pretty clear (I don't necessarily agree though).
Now, it's very possible this happens to somebody on accident, and boom, possibly hours of spriting lost.
Just a warning telling the user, and allowing them to cancel saving, would be immensely useful, so they can put their sprites in a different .dmi file.

I don't see how you would lose hours of work, because you'd have the option of copying those icons to a new file.

A user probably wouldn't realize their work wasn't fully saved until they tried to reload their icons.
That said PBJ you should really break up large DMIs. |
