I just decided awhile ago to try out some of the suggested programs listed here in the Pixel Art Society. I came across Gale. I saw alot of people talking about how it works out pretty well so I downloaded it. At first I had no clue how to work it but soon figured it out. So as my first little project on Gale I decided to make a beam. A nice simple beam, maybe for DBZ games or something.

what it should look like

C&C would be nice.
Thanks my amigos.(No I'm not of the spanish decent.Lol.)

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but...

... that's a lens flare, isn't it? .. I haven't seen one of those used in ages.

Anyway, on regards of helpful critique; the beam doesn't really blend together, so it looks a bit funny. Beams of energy are, indeed, generally lighter at the core where it's hotter - but the transition is generally smooth. So you'd either need to either consider adding transitional shades of color, or try dithering - or any combination of the two.

I thought someone was gonna say that. Ok. Thanks I will try to even it out and make it look smoother.
This isn't pixel art. Don't use renders/brushes or any of those tools (found on software like photoshop, etc) that distort the image.
And nice sig.

Understood. I didn't know I couldn't use renders and those type of tools or else it wouldn't be called pixel art. Thanks for informing me.

I cant claim that as my own because all I really did was re-color a pokemon sprite I found. So all credit goes to Nintendo and the Pokemon creators.
